Occupational Health Advisor – Part Time

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Occupational Health Advisor to join our HR Team at our Kirkham bakery site.

This is a great part time position where the Occupational Health Advisor will provide advice and support to the site on all matters relating to Occupational Health and Wellbeing.

They will lead all activity related to employee health and wellbeing, actively promote employee health and wellbeing, and they will coordinate activities related to this.

This is where you come in…

The Occupational Health Advisor will undertake new starter medicals for all new starters and advise on suitability of candidates to perform all or part of proposed duties.

They will ensure effective health surveillance is being carried out including audiometry, spirometry, young workers, night workers, vulnerable employees, WAH, confined spaces etc.

The Occupational Health Advisor will be a key role in the team accountable for providing advice, guidance and coaching management in the fair and consistent application of company polices and procedures in line with statutory and legal requirements and to drive best practice.

Along with championing and leading health improvement campaigns in line with the Fox’s schedule, they will participate in the management of absence providing advise, guidance and support to managers and HR as required, including management of long term absentees and potential disability cases. They will be responsible for the management of department budgets and will work closely with H&S Manager, assisting in accident investigations and reduction programmes.

About you
  • Relevant Occupational Health qualification 
  • Experience in a similar role ideally within a Manufacturing/ FMCG or Food Sector
  • Ability to communicate across all levels of the business
  • Proactive approach
  • Ability to self-motivate and self-manage according to given timescales
  • Collaborative approach to OH
