About the role
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a permanent SAP ABAP Developer to join our Group IT team based at our Shared Services Centre in Wakefield. 
This role would suit somebody who has solid experience in SAP ECC5 development, configuration and support. You will also have to following experience to bring to the role:
  • Solid Experience in SAP EEC5 development, configuration and support
  • Collaborate in SAP ECC5 development, configuaration and support
  • Contrubute to the PMO to deliver development/configuration within the expected timescale
  • Liase with business process specialists to ensure requirement are met and support is provdided
  • Drive continous process improvements
  • Serve as a key team member in project, representing SAP application development in assigned area
  • Translating functional specification into ABAP changes
  • Write ABAP (ALV) reports, function modules, user exits, create/extend IDOCs, dialogs, smartform/form painter

  • ABAP development experience, including at least one large-scale implementation
  • Experience with Screen Painter, Classes/Methods, BADIs, CMOD, SAPScript, SmartForms,
  • User Exits, Enhancement Spots, Gateway Data Services, CDS Views, RFC Functions,
  • Data Dictionary object, BADI, BAPI, Web Services, Client & Server Proxy, ALV Report, Classical Reports,
  • Performance Tuning etc
  • Excellent understanding of SAP development methods and best practices
  • Ability to independently conduct research into issues/challenges and propose technical solutions
  • SAP Module configuration knowledge and understanding for, at minimum, one ECC module
  • Ability to take responsibility for the design activities on projects, the production of design
  • specifications and the review of design specifications produced by others
  • Strong customer focus with good client facing consulting capability as roles are working collaboratively
  • with our clients, and on behalf of our clients with their suppliers
  • Perform testing of system changes and to assist in user testing of changes
  • Participate in knowledge sharing with colleagues in SAP technical and related client business matters
  • PI/PO experience would be beneficial
