Role Overview

Our established Carlisle site has up to 1500 employees, spanning over 3 Factories across 2 sites. The site produce around 90 million meals annually with 150 products made daily over a 7 day operation along with a turnover of £140 million.

As the Engineering Team Leader you will report to the Maintenance Manager and lead a team of 8 Engineers. You’ll be an integral part of a team that keeps the production area running, being a key member of the operational team looking to drive continuous improvement reducing down time and improving overall equipment effectiveness.  

We have a great team in place and as such are only looking for someone who will add value, someone who can mentor and motivate your team.  A keen eye for identifying skills gaps and able to coach and develop your lesser experienced Engineers. 

About you:
  • HNC or equivalent within Electrical Engineering
  • Able to work unsupervised with a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Multi-skilled (Electrical / Mechanical)
  • Solid factory maintenance background
  • Commercially aware – able to make decisions on the purchasing of parts & delivery options versus the cost of downtime
  • Full understanding of Food Safety standards
  • Strong planner, delegator and motivator
  • Fully conversant of Health & Safety legislations
  • Must be able to communicate effectivel
