This site produces a breath-taking 1 million pizzas a week for leading high street retailers including M&S and Asda.

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Engineering Team Leader join the Engineering division of our award winning Pizza Factory in Nottingham.  This opportunity will offer you the chance to build upon your current knowledge within a fast paced state of the art food production facility. 
 
As Engineering Team Leader you will report to the Maintenance Manager and lead a team of 8 Engineers and a site handyman. You’ll be an integral part of a team that keeps the production area running. You will be a key member of the operational team looking to drive continuous improvement reducing down time and improving overall equipment effectiveness
 
Your duties will include (but not limited to); overseeing the maintenance of production, packaging and wrapping machinery. You will lead and direct planned and preventative maintenance checks, react to production breakdowns and also undertake regular machinery inspections. You will be proactive and understand the financial implications of keeping the production lines moving and keeping breakdowns to an absolute minimum.   You will complete maintenance and engineering paperwork to high levels, therefore excellent PC skills are a must to achieve in this role. You will look at on-going maintenance pinch points and carry out Root Cause Analysis reports where needed. You will look to improve production my implementing Lean Manufacturing and Continues Improvement procedures. You will be an excellent communicator, lead from the front and by example and look to motivate others around you. 


As Engineering Team Leader you will be customer focused and understand the customers’ needs better than anybody else. You will strive to improve production, quality and service for internal and external stakeholders and look to enhance working relationships across the site.  You will demonstrate high levels of commercial, resilience and analytical skills – with a never give up approach.

You will be…
  • An apprentice trained engineer who’s worked their way up from the tools and into a Team Leader/Management position.
  • Ideally from a food production background or alternatively an FMCG environment
  • Commercially aware – control and management of a weekly engineering budget
  • Experience of drives and invertors.
  • Full understanding of Food Safety standards
  • Strong planner and delegator
  • Fully conversant of Health & Safety legislations
  • Able to prepare detailed inspection reports
  • Excellent team motivator with a “in this together“ approach
  • Results and KPI driven
  • Analytical and good eye for detail
  • Able to prioritise workloads
  • Good communicator
  • Personable - outgoing and able to build trusting relationships with site colleagues and stakeholders.
